TV DEBUT IN NORWAY

n 2003 Sunny was selected from all the other national fighters in England within his weight division to represent his country, England in Norway. There was one fighter selected to represent England in Norway from five different weight categories. The whole kickboxing show was to be aired on Norwegian TV. Due to a mis-communication between the promoter and his trainer the fight was scheduled at 56kg rather then 57kg Sunny had been training for. This was only realized when Sunny weighed in for the fight in Bergen, Norway the day before. Sunny weighed in 57kg but this was not good enough for promoter Trevor Ambrouse, and was told he had a two hour deadline to lose the 1kg otherwise the fight would not go ahead. Under the guidance of his coach Kash, Sunny was told to skip non stop for forty-five minutes. He then had to go into a sauna wearing his tracksuit bottoms, a sweat bag and jumper, only to shadowbox in the boiling heat for another fifteen minutes. After an exhausting workout Sunny weighed in at 56.1kg, the fight was on! Sunny won his first International fight with a unanimous point’s victory over the Norwegian fighter, Magners Bergis.
